Over the past five years, the Cabot Panthers have been one of the 7-A Central’s most consistent football teams. The Panthers always seem to be in the playoff mix and in most cases, they usually make a deep playoff run. After the Panthers finished with a 7-5 record last season, Panthers’ fans are looking for another playoff run and at a chance at a conference championship.
The Cabot ground game is always one of the most impressive in the state, and the 2017 version should not be much different than past versions. Panthers’ fans should expect to see Adam Flores get a large number of carries from the running back position. Flores rushed for over 400 yards last season, and he has the chance to surpass that number this season. Cabot fans should look for the rushing attack to continue to put big numbers on the ground.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Cabot Panthers have always had an impressive defense. The Panthers’ defense will four returning starters coming back for the 2017 season. Cabot fans should look for Lucas Crumbly to continue to have solid performances at the linebacker position. Crumbly has a nose for the football and should once again help a strong defense.
Cabot should contend for a conference championship and has the potential to make a playoff run. Cabot’s ground game is always strong and this season should be no exception. Fans should keep an eye out for Cabot, the ball control offense and the strong defense always tends to be an equalizer.
