College Signing Day for 17 Student-Athletes

The Cabot Athletic Department held a college signing ceremony for seventeen student-athletes on April 28th in the Cabot High School Athletic Fieldhouse. Immediate family joined each student as they said a few words of gratitude for their coaches, family, and friends before announcing where they would be continuing their academic and athletic career. Caleb Allen will play football for Lyon College and excited for this new experience and challenge. Caleb plans to study Secondary Education and would like to become a coach one day. Marissa Brown will cheer at Arkansas State University next fall! Marissa was the Captain of the CHS Cheer Team her senior year and a member of the 2020 Cheer State Championship Team as well as placing Runner-Ups at National this year! Marissa has wanted to attend ASU since she attended a camp there a few years ago and is excited for this phase of her life. She plans to major in Exercise Science. Dustin Calhoun will wrestle next year at the University of the Ozarks. While at Cabot, Dustin has placed first in conference and been an All-State Wrestler. Dustin is looking forward to his new school and learning more about wrestling. He plans to major in Health Science to become an Athletic Trainer. Katie Cason signed to cheer at Arkansas State University. Katie was also a member of the CHS Cheer team as they won State and placed second at Nationals. Katie is a NCA All American and a 3-time cheerleading Worlds qualifier. While at ASU, Katie is looking forward to next chapter with Cheer and plans to major in Dietetics. Nevaeh Coleman will cheer at the University of Central Arkansas. Nevaeh has won multiple US Finals titles in cheer. She is looking forward to her new experiences at UCA both athletically and academically. Nevaeh would like to obtain a Biology degree and then attend Medical School to become a Neonatologist. Lexxi Halpine is attending Lyon College for archery. She plans to major in Nursing. Lexxi has competed in archery for several years and is excited to complete at the collegiate level. Bryant Hidle will play football for Hamline University in Minnesota next fall. Even though he did not attend Cabot his whole high school career, he still maintained on the academic team with a GPA above 3.5. Bryant plans to study Biology while at college with dreams of opening up a Veterinarian Clinic. Kory Lynn Jennings is excited to cheer at Southern Arkansas University next fall. She plans to major in Dental Hygiene. While at Cabot she was All-American for 3 years, All-State her senior year, Co-Caption her senior year, and a member of the 2020 State Championship Team and 2021 Runner-Up at Nationals. Kory Lynn is ready to compete at the collegiate level and is excited for her new team and opportunities at SAU. Bryce Johnson will run track at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Brayden Morse will play baseball at Connor’s State and plans on majoring in Physiology and minoring in Journalism. He had a 0.62 ERA his sophomore year and currently leads his team in strikeouts. Brayden is looking forward to getting better every day in the classroom and on the field. He is ready and excited for this new challenge and chapter in his life. Hogan Ralston will play baseball at Hendrix University. He chose Hendrix from the great connection he made with the coach and is looking forward to compete at the college level. Baseball has always played a huge role in Hogan's life and he would like to continue that in some aspect after school. Whether that is with coaching or working with teams in the future. Jaiden Ryals will attend the University of the Ozarks and play baseball. Jaiden is looking forward to meeting new people and connecting with his new team. Jaiden plans to major in Health with aspirations of becoming a Chiropractor. Trinity Sadosky will run track for College of the Ozarks. She said she liked the smaller atmosphere at C of O and the coaches made her feel right at home. She is excited for this new challenge and is dedicated to giving it her all! Trinity also plans to major in Elementary Education. Riley Strube is looking forward to dancing at Arkansas State University. She has been dancing for 15 years and is so excited to continue that at the college level. She also plans to major in Psychology to become a Forensic Psychologist. Grant Thompson will run track at Williams Baptist University next fall. Colton Wilson will attend Lyon College for archery. Grayson Young will run track at Arkansas State University. He is a 2-time Arkansas All-Star, All-State Cross Country, and has placed in the top 10 at the State Track Meet. Arkansas State welcomed him when deciding on schools and he is looking forward to his new beginning as a Red Wolf. Grayson plans to major in Civil Engineering.
