The Cabot Panthers and Lady Panthers competed at the Bryant Hornet Invitstional on March 18th. The Lady Panthers were victorious beating 15 other teams while the Panthers were runners up at the meet.
Top performances for the Lady Panthers were Chloe Brown who was 1st place in the high jump, second place in the long jump and 4th place in the 100 meter dash. Kelis Jackson won both the Shot and Discus increasing her automatic qualifying distance in the discus to 115 feet and 7 inches. Kenzie Pruett won the 100 meter hurdles and placed 4th in the high jump. Kallie Sims placed 3rd in the Pole Vault and 5th in the 100 hurdles. Karmen Jackson placed 2nd in the discus and 4th in the shot put. Cady Masters was 2nd in the 1600 and 3200. Makenzie Wood was 3rd in the 3200 and 4th in the 1600. Abigail Huff placed 3rd on both the 1600 and 800. Meanwhile Ensley Grant set a season PR in the 800 placing 4th. The Lady Panthers bookended the night with victories at the beginning of the meet in the 4x800 (JaLiesha Jackson, Abigail Huff, Ensley Grant, and Cady Masters) and end of the meet in the 4x400 (Chloe Brown, JaLiesha Jackson, Allie Lemay, Kenzie Pruett)
The Panthers were led by a state qualifying throw by Jackson Bates in the shot put (52-0) who also placed 3rd in the disc. Myson McFall claimed victories in both the 1600 and 3200. Lucas Blalack set a personal best in the pole vault at 13-0 while placing 1st. Asher Acosta also set a season best in the shot put placing 3rd in 48-0. Asher Laws in his debut in the pole vault cleared 10-6 placing 6th. Entering the final event of the night the Panthers were in 4th place. The 4x400 team of Tony Griffin, Reese Fisher, Brayden Shine, and Myson McFall ran a season best time of 3:31.08 placing 2nd and moving the Panthers into the runner up position.
